Competition Racing Ferrari in
1949, for the first time Ferrari won his first title in the competition by racing driver Luigi Chinetti to win the Endurance Race Car 24 Hours of Le Mans car wearing 166M. Furthermore, Ferrari began to dominate the World Sports Car Championship held from the start since 1953. In this event, Ferrari won the constructors' championship seven times in the first nine chances.
When starting the championship changed formats in 1962, Ferrari still had won the title in 1966, then 1968, and finally 1972. After that, Enzo Ferrari decided Scuderia will only concentrate on the Formula 1 championship course.
Yet despite Ferrari since 1973 is no longer following the sports car world championship, they still managed to produce some excellent cars used by other teams. The cars are: 512BB/LM, 333 SP which won the IMSA GT Championship in the era of the 90's, F430 GT2 and GT3.
